PLYWOOD

Plywood is a sheet material manufactured from thin layers or plies of wood veneer that are glued together with adjacent layers having their wood grain rotated up to 90 degrees to one another. Plywood is a versatile building material with applications in many interior and exterior surfaces. It is one of the most durable materials available and it can provide an excellent foundation for your furniture. Timbers are seasoned and chemically treated to make plywood durable, long lasting and resistant to termites and borers. Plywood are available in 3mm, 4mm, 6mm, 8/9mm, 16mm, 18mm,19mm, and 25mm sizes.

BLOCK BOARD

Blockboard is made up of a core of softwood strips. These strips may be up to about 25mm wide. The strips are placed edge to edge and sandwiched between veneers of hardwood. The sandwich is then glued under high pressure. Blockboard may be used to make shelves, doors, panelling, cabinets, wardrobes, furniture etc. Each timber used in block board is kiln-dried sawn timber which is sandwiched between core ply. It has very high vertical load bearing strength and hence suitable for vertical applications, such as doors, cupboards, panels and partition walls. These are chemically treated to resist termites and borers. It also has good resistance to warping. Block boards are available in 16mm, 19mm, 20mm, and 25mm sizes.
